Living and working in Montana, wildfires are a continuous concern of our region. Along with other local agencies, the Missoula Fire Department participates in wildfire prevention and awareness. We encourage our community to stay "Fire Wise" and at the ready. Below are some programs to help you protect your family and your home.
Protect Your Family and Home
The Missoula Fire Department provides free defensible space consultations in the Missoula wild land urban interface. You can call 406-552-6210 during normal business hours to schedule a consultation. You can also use these resources to prepare your home and protect your family and pets from wild land fires.
Ready, Set, Go Program
The Ready Set Go Program, designed and managed by the International Fire Chief Association seeks to develop and improve the dialogue between fire departments and the residents they serve. The program's intent is to help local fire departments teach individuals who live in high risk wildfire areas how to best prepare themselves and their properties against the threat of wildland fires.
