Seattle Stair Climb

Firefighter Stair Climb
Scott Health and Safety has sponsored the annual Firefighter Stair Climb in Seattle as a fund-raiser for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society since 1992.

At 788 feet of vertical elevation, the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle stands as the second tallest building west of the Mississippi. It takes 69 flights of stairs and 1,311 steps to reach the highly acclaimed observation deck overlooking the city. The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb supports the mission of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising money through sponsorships, individual and department fundraising, and entry fees. In 2012, the event featured over 1,550 firefighters from 281 different departments and brought in a record $1.2 Million for blood-cancer research and patient services.

MFDs Involvement
Missoula Fire Department first sent firefighters to compete in the Scott Firefighter Stair Climb in 2005 and our team finished tenth out of the more than 140 teams competing. We could not have accomplished that without the gracious help of the City of Missoula and our generous community.

If you would like to help sponsor Missoula Fire Department's Stair Climb Team, please contact the Department at our Headquarters Station at 406-552-6210 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
