Missoula in Motion (MIM) was established in 1997. It is an integral part of Missoula's Transportation Planning Division, providing Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs and services.
TDM focuses on helping people change their travel behavior—to meet their travel needs by using different modes, traveling at different times, making fewer trips or shorter trips, or taking different routes.
Our mission is to increase the use of sustainable transportation in Missoula.
We envision a connected transportation network that is safe, accessible, affordable and desirable for all Missoulians, and contributes to a cleaner environment, healthier individuals and a more vibrant place to live, work and play.
Programs and activities include the Momentum Business program, Way to Go! Club, Transportation Best Practice Awards, Commuter Challenge, Sunday Streets Missoula and many more. Visit the MIM website to learn more.
MIM is funded primarily through Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program funds. These funds are allocated by the Montana Department of Transportation who receives them from the federal government.
