Park Maintenance Division

The staff of the Park Maintenance Division cares for over 530 acres of developed parkland and over 30 miles of trails. The division's primary functions are described below

  • Efficiently maintain park resources, facilities, and amenities for safe and optimum conditions including playgrounds, restrooms, shelters, sidewalks, paths, ponds, and turf areas.
  • Services include mowing, trash collection, cleaning, facility inspections; maintaining and repairing playgrounds, asphalt surfaces, picnic shelters, tables and benches, and other specialized recreation facilities.

Integrated Pest Management - Vegetation Management

The Parks & Recreation Department manages over 4,275 acres of public lands for parks, trails, conservation lands, and landscaped right-of-ways, with new lands and facilities being added nearly every year. Through Integrated Pest Management (IPM), the department manages pests that are detrimental to the health, function or aesthetic value of parks in an effective and environmentally responsible manner, with utmost consideration to public and employee safety. Park Irrigation

Provide cost-effective maintenance for all parks and rights-of-ways irrigation systems to promote healthy turf, trees and plants for the use and enjoyment of the community.

Services include irrigation system start up, winterization, back flow testing, leak repairs, clock control, pump and well maintenance, and water use management.

Athletics

Provides safe, aesthetic playing fields and facilities for various sports programs, based on the community demands and the natural resources of the park or facility.

Services include sports field striping, ball field preparation, tennis court maintenance, and sports turf care. The programs include tennis, softball, soccer, flag football, rugby and other recreational sports.

Our goal is to provide quality, safe playing fields, surfaces, while protecting park resources by managing facilities efficiently to accommodate the needs of the sport customer and park user.
