The academy is open to local citizens, business owners, fraternal organization members and non-profit organizations. This eight-week program has provided Missoula citizens with a realistic view of their Missoula Police Department's activities, challenges, and accomplishments.
This academy includes an overview of our department's activities including presentations from officers about our many programs including, but not limited to:
- Uniform Patrol
- Investigations
- Special Teams (SWAT)
- School Resource Officers (SRO)
- Crime Scene Investigation
- K-9 program
- Community Service Specialists
- Quality of Life
- Hands-on applications include a ride-a-long with officers and a training simulator

We have had a great deal of interest in our previous academies, so we encourage you to apply early because space is limited. A review of applications will result in approximately 30 invitations to successful applicants.
